#61-Meet Mr. Holmes & Dr. Watson #2

A Study in Scarlett CD coverThis week’s podcast continues where we left off last week.  A Study in Scarlett is separated into two different parts.  Last week, we looked at part one.  This week, we look at part two. We start with the passages which outline the events which take place in America and affect the London events which we looked at last week.  Then we begin listening to some of Holmes’ descriptions of his deductions.  Join us for some amazing descriptions of the American western landscape and some exciting events.  There is also a couple bits of trivia about books and reading.

#60-Meet Mr. Holmes & Dr. Watson

A Study in Scarlett CD coverThis week’s podcast is the first of two which samples from my latest in the Narration by George Classics series: Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s first Sherlock Holmes story, A Study in Scarlet.  Not only does this story introduce us to Holmes and Watson, but we learn how they met and came to team together.  We also get a look at the process by which Holmes brings his deductive process to the science of crime detection.  This mystery takes us from the streets of London to the desert and mountains of the American West.  Join me for the beginning of the journey!

#59-Meet Those Who Are “The Destined”

Cover-AudioHave you ever felt like you were “destined” to do something special?  Today, you get to meet six people who are just that – The Destined.  My latest audio book tells the story of these six young people.  Meet Dega who can heal and read minds.  There’s Dru who sports an attitude and is proficient with fire.  Eric and Barrett are buddies who can control water and electricity.  Kandi and Aimee control wind and earth.  They all must learn to work together to combat an evil which is seeking to destroy and then dominate the whole earth.  Can they do it?  How will they do it?  The story of The Destined is exciting, action-packed, and fast paced.  And it’s approved for the whole family.

#58-ReCast: An Interview with Ebeneezer Scrooge

ACC 1-Scrooge DescriptionsThis week features the last of the recasts.  We look back to a very early podcast with a lot of imagination.  How about an interview with Ebeneezer Scrooge?  You remember Scrooge!  He’s the curmudgeon whose greed and avarice hardened his heard against all mankind.  But, he’s visited by three spirits who change his heart and, thus, his actions.  What if you could hear from him now?  I take a stab at this possibility by imagining an interview with the reformed Scrooge!

Yes, this podcast was originally a “Christmas season” episode. However, this story is really not about Christmas; it is about redemption.  And redemption is a universal theme good at any time of the year.  So, my production of A Christmas Carol is available for sale year ’round.  Go to my page for the book and listen to some samples.

#56-Recast – Looking Back, Looking Forward

As the moving and rebuild of the Narration by George studio progresses, we look back at some popular podcasts that have been presented and maybe one you’ve been missed.  This is a retrospective episode that was presented at the first of this year.  I reviewed some titles that are available and some of the distribution issues that we are still facing.  I also looked forward to new distribution channels and new authors.  And I start with an interview with new author Donna Patton.  Take a listen!

P.S. Have you checked out my newest offerings? The Destined and A Study in Scarlet are now available on CD Baby, Audible.com, and in the I-Tunes store.  Click on the title for more info or go to narrationbygeorge.com/books.

#55-ReCast: An Interview with Becky Wooley

Non-Prophet Murders coverBecky WooleyIf you listened last week, you know that we are going to feature some older podcasts as “re-casts” for the next four weeks while I move and re-build my studio in a new home.  This week’s re-cast features my friend and author, Becky Wooley.  As a minister’s wife and church secretary, she has the inside scoop on how churches run.  And she has taken that information and some great imagination to write the clerical crime novel, Non-Prophet Murders.   Grit along with three pastors find themselves the target of a killer.  Can Grit and his girlfriend, Grace, find the killer before he or she strikes again!  Full of humor, satire, and some scary moments, Non-Prophet Murders keeps you guessing “who-dun-it.”  Listen and find out how she does it!

#54-An Interview with Michael Miller

Michael Miller lobe & matterI interview author Michael Miller in this week’s podcast. Michael is the author of The Sixth Lobe and Born to Matter, books we looked at on podcasts #51 & #52.  Michael’s writing is detailed and exciting, with the action jumping off the page into your imagination.  His characters are varied and interesting.  And his subject matter is unique.  Imagine a boy and, later, a man with the ability to read your subconscious thoughts.  Or a space traveler assumed to be dead, returning to earth through a “fold” in space.  Or that same traveler bringing aliens with him.  How about more Biblical documents like the Dead Sea Scrolls.  Such is the imagination of Michael Miller.  Join me for a fascinating interview!

#52-Born to Matter

Born To Matter-cover-new-iconThis week, we continue sampling the story of Danny Wilson.  This is the second of Michael Miller’s books featuring this remarkable young man.  In Born to Matter, Danny returns to the United States to settle old scores.  In the process, he makes both new enemies and new friends.  He settles his scores and makes a mark on lives that show he really was Born to Matter!

#51-The Sixth Lobe

The Sixth Lobe CoverThis week’s podcast is the first of three podcasts featuring books by author Michael Miller.  This week’s book, The Sixth Lobe, is the first of two telling Danny Wilson’s story.  In this book, we meet 10 year old Danny and discover that he has an additional lobe in his brain.  With this lobe, he is able to read the sub-conscious thoughts of those around him.  This presents problems for the child; while some adults with nefarious goals decide that this is a useful ability to tap into.  This conflict leads to an amazing climax.  Listen to some samples from this book in this podcast.  (Next week, we’ll meet the adult Danny.)

#50-An Interview with Regina Puckett

Regina PuckettMy 50th podcast features the first author who entrusted me with a book for production, Regina Puckett.  I interviewed her to talk about her about her award winning books, writing, her future projects, and the Warren Family. The Warren Family?

The Warren Family is a series of five books revolving around various members of the same family.  I produced the first two of the series with a third under contract now.  Regina and I talk about these characters and the way I’ve drawn these characters vocally.
