Breaking Dawn

Poetry by Regina Puckett.

Some days I’m hard pressed to see hope or joy

I run tirelessly toward a goal only to discover it’s a decoy

Trusted signposts and markers have only led to the edge of a cliff

The things I once thought were solid are filled with cracks and a rift

Can anything be trusted or is it all just a ruthless, cruel sham

Where the lambs are led to the slaughter and no one really gives a damn

5-STAR RATED BOOK:

  • I listened to this collection via the audiobook format. I feel that the audio helped bring out the rhythm and rhyme of each poem, and with that, the words had even more power than they would simply on the page. Since poetry is as much about the audible experience as it is the visual/textual experience, this added to my enjoyment. – RZ
  • The poems are quite passionate with a real-life, genuine feel!!! – VN
