Knighthawke
The first book in the Knighthawke series is of a family in crisis. The son, Michael, kidnapped as an infant, grew up in the Deep South in a foster home believing that he was the son of bank robbers. He joins the Air Force for the opportunity to find his roots, his family. But his search for his past is complicated when an alien organism infects him, enhancing his natural abilities. Scientists want to study him; the Air Force wants to use him as a secret weapon; and the Soviets want his blood. Michael simply wants to know who he is.
